Stop & Heal

About Stop & Heal

Stop & Heal is an independent recovery companion for 11 addictions — from nicotine and alcohol to gambling, porn and compulsive phone use. It was built around one idea: people stay quit when they can see their body healing. Most tracking apps count days; this one shows what those days are doing inside you, hour by hour, with an evidence tag on every claim.

How the content is made

Every milestone in the app and on this site was compiled by reviewing public health literature — WHO, CDC, the US Surgeon General, NHS, and peer-reviewed research — and tagged with one of three evidence levels so you always know how solid the ground is. The full process, including how we handle the younger science around behavioral addictions, is documented on the methodology page. Each guide also lists its key sources at the bottom.

Privacy as a design decision

What you track in a recovery app is among the most sensitive data that exists. Stop & Heal has no account, no server and no analytics — everything stays on your device. Not because it's fashionable, but because a relapse log should never live on someone else's computer. Details in the privacy policy.

Stop & Heal is not a medical service. It's education and companionship. For diagnosis and treatment, talk to a health professional — especially before quitting alcohol or sedatives.
